WHITE in the moon the long road lies, 

  The moon stands blank above; 

White in the moon the long road lies 

  That leads me from my love. 

 

Still hangs the hedge without a gust, 

  Still, still the shadows stay: 

My feet upon the moonlit dust 

  Pursue the ceaseless way. 

 

The world is round, so travellers tell, 

  And straight though reach the track,

  The way will guide one back. 

 

But ere the circle homeward hies

Begitu kutipan puisi dari Alfred Edward Housman (A.E. Housman) seorang penyair dan cendekiawan klasik asal Inggris. Merujuk pada "Putih" yang menceritakan kehilangannya pada kekasihnya. 

Dalam budaya Barat, warna putih sering dikaitkan dengan pernikahan, rumah sakit, dan malaikat. Beberapa masyarakat barat percaya, kalau warna putih menyampaikan rasa kemurnian, kebersihan, dan kedamaian(**)

Putih, warna yang secara inheren positif, dikaitkan dengan kemurnian, kesucian, kepolosan, cahaya, kebaikan, surga, keselamatan, kecemerlangan, penerangan, pengertian, kebersihan, iman, permulaan, kerohanian, kemungkinan, kerendahan hati, ketulusan, perlindungan, kelembutan, dan kesempurnaan. Di sisi negatif, putih bisa tampak dingin, dingin, dan terisolasi (***)

Bunga-bunga putih kolase jepretan saya. Dari gulma hingga bunga mungil ornamen plant. Kita kuliti satu-satu. 

Foto 1 kiri atas Cestrum nocturnum bunga arum dalu kalau kita sebutnya. The lady of the night, night-blooming jessamine, night-scented jessamine, night-scented cestrum. Bunga wangi saat malam hari. 

Foto 2 kanan atas Allium tuberosum dia bunganya kucai. Common name-nya Garlic chives, Oriental garlic, Asian chives, Chinese chives, Chinese leek. Baunya juga harum saat mekar. Kalau dicium dekat. 🤗

Foto 3 kiri bawah Spermacoce remota gulma berbunga putih lucu family Rubiaceae.  Common name-nya the woodland false buttonweed.

Foto 4 kanan bawah Tradescantia spathacea dikita biasa disebut bunga kerang nanas, Rhoeo, Oreo, Adam hawa. Common name-nya The boatlily or Moses-in-the-cradle.

Putih dianggap sebagai warna yang kuat dalam feng shui. Ini adalah ilmu bangsa Cina yang merupakan sistem pengaturan lingkungan untuk menciptakan harmoni. Warna putih dalam feng shui dianggap sebagai wakil dari elemen logam. 

Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam begitu senang mengenakan busana warna putih. Terutama ketika akan beribadah. Seolah putih menetralkan hati dan pikiran dari polusi duniawi untuk kemudian ikhlas dan khusyuk di hadapan Ilahi. (****)
